The Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government (General) Regulations 2015 outline how Councils need to manage their procurement activities to ensure fairness and transparency. They also ensure there is adequate opportunity for suppliers to bid, be awarded and engage with Councils in Tasmania.

Request for Quote - Sorell Social Strategy Development
Sorell Council invites experienced consultants to provide quotes for preparation of a Social Strategy that identifies a set of strategic social priorities, informed by community engagement, to strengthen existing social initiatives, guide future actions and inform our advocacy and decision making to 2038. The project’s objectives encompass a holistic approach to understanding and addressing social issues and community priorities. It emphasises the importance of community engagement, data-driven decision-making, and the enhancement of existing initiatives to create a comprehensive social strategy that benefits the community and informs advocacy efforts.

Sorell Council is inviting proposals from experienced firms or consultants to develop an Active Transport Strategy that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities within our community. Our goal is to reduce reliance on private vehicles and promote walking, cycling, and other forms of active transportation. We aim to enhance community health and well-being and to support our growing population with efficient transportation options.. The Active Transport Strategy is a multifaceted approach that seeks to create a more active, healthy, sustainable, and accessible transportation environment. Its role is to improve the quality of life for our residents, reduce environmental impacts, and support the long-term development and well-being of our communities.

Marion Bay Road and Bay Road Reconstruction, Marion Bay
Tenders are invited from suitably qualified construction companies for the reconstruction of approximately 460 metres of Marion Bay Road and Bay Road, Marion Bay. The works associated with the road reconstruction include (but are not limited to) formation of the road corridor, supply, installation and compaction of sub-base and base course material, supply and placing road seal, transport and installation of concrete pipe, supply and installation of concrete end walls, and construction of in-situ reinforced concrete slab over stormwater infrastructure. A pre-Tender meeting is scheduled for 10:30am on Tuesday, 28th of November 2023. Attendance at this meeting is not mandatory.
Tenders must be clearly marked “Tender for C-23-T-010 Marion Bay Road and Bay Road Reconstruction, Marion Bay” and may be deposited in the Tender Box at the Sorell Council Offices, 47 Cole Street, Sorell or received by mail prior to the closing date. Tenders will be accepted up until 2:00pm on Wednesday, 13th of December 2023. Neither the lowest nor any Tender will necessarily be accepted. Late Tender responses will not be considered.

Request for Proposal – Professional Services for Canteen and Bar operations – South East Stadium
Sorell Council is now seeking formal proposals to provide professional services for the operation of the canteen and bar facilities within the newly built indoor stadium at the South East Sports Complex.
This is an exciting opportunity for new or experienced canteen/bar operators to establish themselves in what is to become the main sports hub of the South East region.
The stadium will attract an increasingly active local population as well as users from the surrounding municipalities, and will also become a central gathering hub for the local community.
Sorell Council welcomes applications and proposals from private operators and volunteer based organisations, provided that proposals comply with requirements defined in this document.
