Request Building, Plumbing Plans or Property Investigation Report
If you wish to request building and/or plumbing plans or a Property Investigation Report for your property, please complete the form below.
Processing Time: Please allow up to four (4) business days for a Council Officer to review your request. You will be contacted to advise whether plans or documentation are available.
Fees

Request for Plans: $44 per property
Property plans only. Does not include approvals, certificates, reports or other documentation.

Property Investigation Report: $125 per property
Includes plans, approval documents, permits, certificates and current property approval status where applicable.
The applicable fee is charged on a per-property basis and is not varied according to the number or volume of plans or documents held on file.
Once Council has confirmed that relevant plans or documentation are available, an invoice will be issued.
Payment Required
Payment of the applicable fee is required before your request can be processed and the requested information released.
Please be aware: Due to the age of some properties, Council may not hold any records for the building.
Specific Plans or Documents
If you require a specific plan or document, such as site plans, floor plans or drainage plans, please clearly specify this in your request under “If other selected please specify”. This will assist Council in conducting a more accurate and efficient search.
Copyright Laws
Some plans may be protected by copyright and owned by the original designer. In these cases, Council is legally unable to release the documents without the express written consent of the copyright holder.
It is the landowner’s responsibility to obtain this consent. Any unauthorised reproduction or use of copyrighted material may constitute a breach of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
Building Surveyor Requests
Building Surveyor requests must be submitted in accordance with section 31 of the Building Act 2016.
Requests must be accompanied by an engagement letter outlining the terms under which the information may be accessed or released.
