New Primrose Sands Playspace

We’re planning a new playspace off Petrel Street in Primrose Sands, with construction expected in 2027, giving local kids and families a welcoming place to play, explore and spend time together.

Council’s 2025 Play Space Audit and Plan identified different types of playspaces to meet community needs. This new playspace is planned as a neighbourhood playspace, designed to provide accessible play opportunities close to home for local families.

The project also includes formalised parking for visitors and boat ramp users, along with new public toilet facilities.

A concept plan has been developed by Playstreet, building on previous planning and the findings of Council’s Play Space Audit and Plan.

Some of the planned features include:

  • Separate active play and passive, quieter zones
  • Sensory elements to encourage children to explore and discover
  • Seating and shaded areas, with advanced trees and shade umbrellas
  • An accessible pathway from Petrel Street to the beach access
  • New fencing
  • Formalised parking for visitors and boat ramp users
  • New public toilet facilities

We’d love you to take a look at the concept plan and tell us what you think. What do you like about the proposed playspace? Does it feel right for the community, and are there any important considerations we should be aware of?

Community feedback is open from Monday 2 November to Monday 30 November 2026.

Your feedback will help us understand how the concept is received by the community as the project moves forward.

Have a look at the concept plan and share your thoughts – we’d love to hear from you!
