New Midway Point Playspace
We’re planning a new playspace in Midway Point, between Hoffman Street and First Avenue, just north of the existing multi-use courts. The idea is to create a welcoming spot where local kids and families can play, explore and enjoy time together close to home.
Council’s 2025 Play Space Audit and Plan identified different types of playspaces to meet community needs. This new playspace is planned as a neighbourhood playspace, designed to provide accessible play opportunities close to home for local families.
A concept plan has been developed by Playstreet, building on previous planning and the findings of Council’s Play Space Audit and Plan.
Some of the planned features include:
- Natural shade, with advanced trees planned in gathering areas
- A BBQ and picnic area for the community to enjoy
- Inclusive play opportunities for children of different abilities
- Open lawn space for play and relaxation
- A mini walking and bike loop
- Sensory elements to encourage little ones to explore and discover
- New fencing along First Avenue
- A new pathway connecting from Raynors Road
We know that toilets can be a big help when you’re out and about with little ones! However, as this is a local playspace, public toilets won’t be provided at this site.
We’d love you to take a look at the concept plan and tell us what you think. What do you like? Is there anything you think could be improved, or anything else we should consider as the design develops?
Community feedback is open from Monday 2 November to Monday 30 November 2026.
Your feedback will help us understand how the concept is received by the community as the project moves forward.
Have a look at the concept plan and share your thoughts – we’d love to hear from you!
