Bulk Green & Hard Waste Bookings
Bulk Green Waste and Hard Waste Collections
Residents with a kerbside rubbish collection service can book bulk green waste and hard waste pick-ups through Sorell Council.
Bookings must be made before placing waste on the kerb.
Please note: Bulk green waste and hard waste can only be
collected from the kerb. Waste cannot be collected from private property,
including driveways.
Bulk Green Waste Collection
- Available four times each year
- Only available to properties with kerbside rubbish collection
- Must be booked in advance
Green waste must be:
- Placed on a tarp, in an open rigid container other than a wheelie bin, or securely tied in bundles
- Less than 1.5 metres in length
- No more than 20 centimetres in diameter
- A total volume of no more than 2 cubic metres
- Able to be safely lifted by two people
Green waste will not be collected if:
- It is placed in plastic bags or cardboard boxes
- It exceeds the size or volume limits above
- It cannot be safely lifted by two people
Bulk Hard Waste Collection
- Available twice each year
- Only available to properties with kerbside rubbish collection
- Must be booked in advance
Hard waste must be:
- Less than 1.5 metres in length
- A total volume of no more than 2 cubic metres
- Able to be safely lifted by two people
Items that will not be collected:
- Fridges or freezers
- Tyres, batteries, asbestos or other hazardous materials
- Broken glass or building rubble
- Car bodies or engine blocks
- Paints, oils, chemicals or other liquids
- General household rubbish
- Gas bottles
Important Collection Information
- Place your booked waste on the nature strip during the weekend before your scheduled collection week.
- Collections are completed by Council’s contractor during your scheduled collection week.
- Do not place items on the kerb earlier than instructed, as this may result in a littering fine.
- Unbooked waste and items that do not meet the collection requirements will not be collected.
