Plumbing Surveyor (Inspector)

seeking a motivated and qualified Plumbing Surveyor (Inspector) to join our Health & Compliance Team. This is your chance to play a vital role in ensuring quality plumbing work and compliance with key legislation across one of Tasmania’s fastest-growing municipalities.

What you’ll be doing

As our Plumbing Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for assessing plumbing applications, conducting inspections and ensuring plumbing work within the municipality complies with the Building Act 2016, National Construction Code (Plumbing Code of Australia) and relevant standards. You’ll also liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, owner-builders, developers and other Council officers, providing expert advice and helping to ensure safe and compliant outcomes for the community.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a qualified and experienced plumbing professional with a Certificate IV in Plumbing and a current (or eligible) Occupational Licence as a Plumber and Permit Authority. You’ll have a solid understanding of the Building Act 2016, National Construction Code (Plumbing Code of Australia), relevant Australian Standards, and strong technical knowledge of plumbing practices, including hydraulic design and on-site wastewater systems. You’ll bring excellent communication and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and exercise sound judgment.

Level 7 $94 204.40 - $101 519.90 (Plumbing Surveyor) - Level 6 $85 991.71 - $92 985.15 (Plumbing Inspector) - 12% super for the first 6 months and 15.5% upon completion of probation
