Compliance Officer

Council is seeking a motivated and community-minded Compliance Officer to join our Health & Compliance Team. In this role, you’ll provide professional compliance services across the Sorell Municipality, ensuring adherence to legislation, by-laws, and Council policies.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
In this varied role, you’ll:

  • Enforce the Dog Control Act 2000 and manage the municipal pound
  • Conduct inspections, investigations, and patrols
  • Issue compliance and infringement notices
  • Assist with fire hazard, planning, parking, and nuisance matters
  • Support community education and awareness

This is a hands-on role involving both enforcement and community engagement, with some after-hours and on-call work required.
