CUSTOMER & BUSINESS SUPPORT OFFICER (PERMIT AUTHORITY) OR (BUILDING & PLUMBING)

Council is seeking a Customer & Business Support Officer (Permit Authority) and/or Customer & Business Support Officer (Building & Plumbing) to join our Customer & Business Support team. We are open to full-time or part-time arrangements and welcome applications from experienced Permit Authority officers as well as those looking to further develop their Building & Plumbing administration knowledge.

ABOUT THE ROLE…
– Provide professional customer service and administrative support within Council’s Building & Plumbing teams.
– Process and coordinate building and plumbing applications in accordance with the Building Act 2016.
– Assist customers by providing advice and responding to enquiries relating to building and plumbing matters.
– Ensure statutory timeframes are met through accurate application tracking and record management.
– Investigate and assist in resolving compliance matters and regulatory enquiries.
Level 5 – Permit Authority: Undertake Permit Authority functions, including assessing applications, exercising statutory responsibilities and compliance activities under the Building Act 2016.
Level 4 – Building & Plumbing: Provide administration and support for building and plumbing applications, compliance processes and customer requests.

ABOUT YOU…
– Experience in administration, customer service or regulatory services, ideally within a local government or building environment.
– Knowledge of the Building Act 2016 or a willingness to develop this expertise.
– The ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures and apply them accurately.
– Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage statutory timeframes and competing deadlines.
– For the Level 5 Permit Authority role, demonstrated experience or qualifications relevant to undertaking Permit Authority functions and statutory decision-making.

Salary
The successful applicant will be appointed at either Level 4 ($74,763.09 - $79,977.46) or Level 5 ($80,906.05 - $87,691.87) pro-rata, depending on their qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
