Provides support and assistance to single people and families who are homeless, or about to become homeless, to find and keep accommodation. Crisis and ongoing support provided.

THE LINK- IHSHY
INNOVATIVE HEALTH SERVICES FOR HOMELESS YOUTH

IHSHY aims to promote and provide personal health care among homeless or otherwise at risk young people, through the provision of essential and innovative health services. The Fund is administered statewide by the Link health service through a network of Trained Access Workers. The Fund is designed to buy essential health services and or items for young people who cannot afford them. Service provided to Sorell via Sorell Council Youth Development workers.

Aims to assist young people to overcome barriers which are preventing them from exploring and achieving their goals. JPET provides support and advice on issues such as jobs, training, or staying at school. This is for young people who are at risk of homelessness, who are refugees or who are in trouble with the law. SEXUAL ASSAULT SUPPORT SERVICE

SAAS provides a free confidential counseling and information service for women who have been sexually assaulted. Adolesent service is also extended to young people and children who have been sexually abused and offers support to their families. Men can be provided with counselling over the phone.

The Domestic Violence Crisis Service is a free, confidential service available to all who are experiencing violence within their family or with a relationship. Division of DHHS, which holds the statutory responsibility for intervening legally to protect children from abuse and neglect by their parents or other carers. Any suspected circumstances of abuse/ neglect can be reported.
