Council Rates Payments & Concessions

Second Instalment Reminder

Due to unforeseen circumstances Council has been delayed in issuing the Second Instalment Reminder Notices.   This instalment would normally be due for payment on November 4, 2009, however, due to this delay, retepayers will be given until November 25, 2009 to make payment.   Penalties or interest will not be charged until November 25, 2009 in respect of this second instalment.  Council wish to apologise for any inconvenience this delay may have caused.


Direct Debit

No cheques, no postage, no phone calls, no queueing to pay your rates. It's automatic we do it for you!! Why waste your time paying bills? With direct debit the amount is automatically transferred from your bank account on the due date, or periodically at your request. That's the convenience of direct debit! Phone Payments

24 hour Credit Card service, telephone 1300 886 451 for amounts from $20 up to $2,500.  Please ensure that you have your rates notice, your credit card and a pen handy for your receipt number.  Biller code: 18317

Internet Payments

Australia Post

If you would like a more personal approach to paying your accounts, pay your account by cash cheque or eftpos (debit only) at any Australia Post Office or Agency. Please ensure you have your rates notice ready.

Council Offices

Payment can be made in person between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm at the Council offices 12 Somerville Street, Sorell by cheque, cash, credit card or eftpos. Alternatively payment can be made by post addressed to the General Manager

If you wish to make arrangements to pay your rates accounts via Direct Debit or would like further information on any of our payment options, contact the Rates Office at the Sorell Council on (03) 6269 0000 during business hours.
